9月8日 Ellie Anne's 1st BirthdayIt was a beautiful weekend a wonderful day to have a First Birthday Party for our niece Ellie. Her birthday was actually Tuesday but of course the big family party had to be held on a weekend so Grandpa and Grandma Carol (Jen's Dad and Wife) and Uncle Matt (Jen's brother) could come over from the westside. The nice surprise was our newest addition to the family little Spencer Henshaw made it to his cousin's party as well. Marc and Katrina made the one day and back drive from the Tri-Cities with their new bundle of joy. We were all very pleased and honored they were able to make it. Everything went very well, Ellie did GREAT through it all..great planning on her Mommy's part! The pictures speak for themselves however there is one with a back story. Now that each Henshaw sibling has a child now we thought it would be great to have a photo..as you will see in the photos Cade did NOT want to cooperate..(I was furious) he then made Ellie cry so it was a disaster. Spencer was great through the whole ordeal..way to go little man..just like his parents..nice and low key! It is worth saying again..a wonderful and beautiful day. I cannot believe my Ellerbean is one year old all ready..my o my! Auntie loves you Ellie Anne! 8月27日 Spencer Allen Wayne HenshawThe newest member of the Henshaw family finally arrived!!!
12:13am Monday morning Spencer Allen Wayne Henshaw entered the world! It was a long labor for Katrina but she managed to get him out the old fashioned way even though he was 8lbs 12.6oz. and 21 inches long. He has the darling blond/red peach fuzz on his little head..(like he had no a choice with two redheads:)) and he looks ever so much like his mama.
My parents along with my brother Matthew, Jen and Ellie came into town on Sunday morning while Matt and I headed over after getting back from the lake. We arrived to the hospital around 9:45pm..poor Cade was READY to get out of the truck. Priest Lake to home..home to Richland was a bit much for the little man but he really did great. We hung out for a bit at the hospital and quickly realized nothing was going to happen anytime soon so we headed back to Marc and Katrina's house to at the very least put Cade to bed. About 11:45 Marc called and said I think you better come over so Matt stayed behind with Cade and Mom and Dad and I headed over. Shortly after midnight little Spencer was here. Mom Dad and baby are doing great and Spencer is learning the art of eating:) Perhaps he can be like his father and be the one baby in the family to go home from the hospital weighing more than at his birth. Each of the Henshaw siblings has a kiddo now..guess we get to start the process over:) Welcome baby Spencer! 8月19日 Bartoo Island 08Last weekend was one of the best of the summer of 2008. Hot weather..Priest Lake..family and friends. Matt and I made the bold decision to try sleeping on the boat with Cade. I was TERRIFIED to say the least. My brother Matthew and wife Jen picked Cade up from daycare on Friday and took him to the hatch pool and were so kind to run the tarnation out of him. Matt and I kept him awake the whole way up to the lake (envision me with a headlamp on in the truck turned around reading to Cade:) ) I won't bore you all with the details but Cade did GREAT!!!! I was so happy! We woke up and popped out of the cuddy and our boat neighbors were enjoying their morning coffee and exclaimed good morning! SO great to wake up AT the lake. Every Saturday the marina has breakfast so lots of us woke up and gathered for some morning fuel and then many of us headed to Bartoo Island to the group campsite that another member of the marina had reserved. Again I won't even try to describe how wonderful the day was but my lord! HOT HOT HOT and the drinks were COOL COOL COOL:) I met a lot of our fellow marina members and just enjoyed the company. I am still amazed on how much of a hit Cade was with our new found friends. If you see a random guy in a lot of Cade's pictures..well that is Dr. Hart..he sat in that sand with Cade for over an hour..he has 3 girls..his wife was kind to remind him several times no more:) Matt's brother and sister in law and kids arrived later in the afternoon and the party really started. Cade was able to take naps on the boat (bimini tops are hideous until you need shade for your toddler:)) Bonny and I snuck over to Hill's for a ice run (also had to hit the bar for a drink) was able to say a quick hello to my best friend from college..Chelcie and her family while having dinner. Sunday was just too beautiful of a day to head back early so we spent a majority of the day on the water. While everything went wonderfuly the one take away Matt and I both had was..we definitely need a bigger boat..and woohooo we are working on that:) MAN O MAN I love Priest Lake! 7月23日 Blue Diamond/Deer Park VisitThis past weekend we had to run up and clean the boat out and do some other things on the boat so we just stayed at the marina. Cade ran around and checked out everything that he could. We all knew it was only a matter of time but Cade fell off the dock at the boat slip. Of course he is fine- I am a nazi about him wearing his life jacket so all I had to do was scoop him out. He did get caught up on the line so he was stuck face down in the water so I do think he will be moving a bit more gingerly around the boat now:) On our way home we stopped by Bonny, Jess and the kids house in Deer Park and brought banana split fixin's. Matt played some hoops in flip flops with his nephews and niece and had a great little visit. Man o man I love summer:) 6月30日 Hot Orofino WeekendMost weekends in the summer when the temperature is in the 90's you know you can find us up on Priest but this weekend it was another part of Idaho we descended upon. Good ol Orofino Idaho! Home of the Maniacs:) We loaded Cade up and took the truck down mid morning on Saturday and arrived mid afternoon. We drove straight the nursery that Matt's parents own and operate: Green Things Nursery. With temperatures at about 100 we all needed some shade! We hadn't been down since just after Christmas so we were due for a visit:) Poor Cade gets so confused when I say let's go see Grandma and Grandpa's-need to be better about making him understand he has two sets! We tooled around the nursery for a bit and then drove around to check on a few of Matt's buddies that live in town. Eventually we landed at Orofino Elementary School and let Cade play for a bit. The nursery is so close to the highway I could barely let him out of my sight to run before I would have a heart attack so running wild at the elementary school was great. We took Mike and Joan to dinner at the Edge..the newest restaurant in town (thank the Lord for that). It is next to the hotel that was built a few years back on the river-quite possibly the best thing that has happened to that town in years. I knew once we stepped in that place we would be seeing folks all night long and well yes we did:) What is nice is I have actually been around long enough (14yrs-thank you very much:) ) that a lot of these people I know and they know me. Dinner was great and we had great conversation. We spent the night up at the farm-Mike and Joan have for the past few years lived outside of town on over 100 acres. Its a windy drive and steep too..I snapped some pictures on our way back to town on Sunday. Not a tremendous fan but Matt's a good driver:) Sunday we had a wonderful breakfast at the house and began the process of selecting some of our plants and trees to bring back home with us. SO much to choose from-we will see how much the deer eat this time. The drive home was a bit taxing-I think Matt's patience had run out as did Cade sitting in his carseat. All of us were happy to be home and out of the truck. We let Cade chill out and watch Cars while Matt and I unloaded the nursery stock. Plenty O' planting to be had!!!! Orofino summer trip in the books!! |
